Before the appointment of ABC World News Tonight's anchor Sawyer was his main replacement. He's reported on a variety of evening specials on primetime ABC News some recent ones being Breaking Point: Heroin in America as well as Flashpoint: Refugees in America. He has traveled around across the globe covering stories that concern Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti and the Gulf of Mexico. He was the winner of several Emmy Awards, Edward R.
